George Muller’s autobiography was written to encourage the church to trust in the Lord. Muller was a pastor and evangelist who founded and operated orphanages around the mid-nineteenth century in England. His stories of the Lord’s merciful provision strengthened my faith, and have encouraged my trust in the Lord. I think I cried in every chapter, as Muller recounted over and over again how God provided both in subtle and great ways. Each provision was in answer to the prayers of Muller and his fellow workers.
